Free health & fitness tip: Neck lateral tilt — ear toward shoulder, not shoulder toward ear (step 3 of 9 from "Stretch Routine You Can Do at a Desk").
Sit tall. Drop your right ear toward your right shoulder. Let gravity pull — do not press with your hand. Hold 30 seconds. Repeat left. You should feel a stretch along the upper trapezius and the side of the neck. If you feel a nerve zing down the arm, stop and back off.
Keep the opposite shoulder down. The common mistake is shrugging the non-stretch side up, which cancels the stretch. Pin that shoulder blade down with intention.
You'll need
- Ear toward shoulder, not shoulder up
- Opposite shoulder pinned down
- 30-second hold each side
- No nerve zing — back off if you feel one
