Free everyday life tip: When you miss a day, restart the next morning (step 8 of 11 from "Morning Routine That Doesn't Need Willpower").
You will miss days. A late night, a sick child, a travel day — the routine will break. The mistake people make is treating a missed day as proof the system failed and abandoning it entirely. One missed day does not reset your circadian rhythm or undo your habit. Two or three missed days in a row start to erode it, but even then, the fix is the same: set the alarm tonight, put the phone across the room, and start again tomorrow.
Do not punish yourself with an earlier alarm to 'make up' for the missed day. That is willpower thinking, and this course is built to avoid willpower. Just resume the same time, same sequence. The routine's strength is that it is boring and repeatable — you can pick it back up from exactly where you left it because there is nothing to remember or ramp up to.
Pro tip: Mark each successful morning on a wall calendar with an X. The visual chain of X's becomes its own motivation — you won't want to break the streak.
