Free cleaning & laundry tip: Iron the front panels (step 7 of 9 from "Iron a Dress Shirt in 4 Minutes").

Drape one front panel over the board with the button placket facing up. Iron the placket first — weave the iron tip between buttons, pressing the fabric strip flat. Then press the rest of the front panel in long downward strokes from shoulder to hem. Rotate the shirt and repeat on the other front panel.

The area around the pocket (if present) needs the iron tip. Press around the pocket edges, not across the top, to avoid stretching the pocket opening. A visible pocket crease looks sloppy on a dress shirt.

You'll need

  • Button placket pressed
  • Left front panel done
  • Right front panel done
  • Pocket edges pressed (if applicable)
