Remove the lower slide-pin bolt (many cars pivot the caliper up on the top bolt). If both bolts come out, hang the caliper from the spring with wire. The hose is not a hook.

Inspect slide pins: they should move by hand. Dry or rusty pins cause uneven wear. Clean, grease with brake-safe grease only, seats the boots without twists.
