Place the candle with its label facing your camera. Side window light will skim across the cylindrical surface, revealing the shape. The reflector on the opposite side keeps the label readable.
If the candle has a glossy surface, watch for a bright reflection of the window (a specular highlight). A small highlight adds dimension — a blown-out streak looks cheap. Move the candle forward or back until the highlight is small and contained.
Pro tip: Turn the label 5 degrees off-axis from dead-center. Perfectly straight-on can look flat. A slight angle adds depth.
