Free career skills tip: What not to say in the opener (step 6 of 16 from "Interview Answers That Land").
Do not start with 'So, um, I guess I should start from college.' Do not narrate your whole resume in date order — they have the PDF. Do not say you are 'exploring opportunities' if you are employed; it sounds like you are browsing. Do not dump salary, notice period, or childcare logistics in the first answer unless they asked.
Do not use 'passionate about operations' or 'I wear many hats'. Replace both with one number. If you are switching from support into ops, say the overlap in one line ('I already owned a 40-ticket queue and vendor SLAs') and move. The opener is a map, not a confession.
You'll need
- Timed at 75–95 seconds twice
- No college tour unless they are hiring a graduate
