01Clear the bench and gather glass only

Perfume picks up plastic smell and cooking grease. Wipe counter with unscented cleaner, dry completely. Lay out: scale, beaker, oils, alcohol, gloves, notebook.

No candles, no cooking on the stove behind you — your nose lies when the room smells like dinner.

02Patch test and ventilation

Open a window. Sniff oils one at a time with cap off 30 seconds — not full inhale. Patch test diluted drop on inner wrist 24 h before wearing.

If an oil burns your nose at arm's length, use less in the blend.

Pro tip. Write batch number on every bottle — you'll forget which is which in two weeks.
